Tianfu New Area

Tianfu New Area is a state-level new area approved by the State Council in October 2014, with a planned area of 1,578 square kilometers, of which Chengdu's direct management area covers 564 square kilometers, focusing on headquarters economy, digital economy, high-end and high-tech industries. The Tianfu New Area has seen the formation of the Tianfu International Convention Center, Western Expo City, Chengdu Science City, and Tianfu Cultural and Creative City, and the building of a Park City example is being accelerated. Sichuan Tianfu New Area's regional GDP exceeded 400 billion yuan in 2021 with an increase of 9.7 percent, ranking fifth among 19 state-level new areas in China.

On February 11, 2018, General Secretary Xi Jinping inspected Tianfu New Area and pointed out that "Tianfu New Area is an important node in the construction of the 'Belt and Road' and the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. It must be well planned and constructed, especially taking the characteristics of Park City and ecological value into consideration, striving to create new growth poles and building an inland open economic highland." Bearing major national development strategy and task of reform and opening-up, Tianfu New Area adheres to high-end positioning strategy, comprehensively promotes the construction of three main functional areas: Tianfu Central Business District, Chengdu Science City, and Tianfu Cultural and Creative City, and strives to build a global resource allocation platform. It is an economic highland open to the outside world and the most dynamic new growth pole in west China.
