China (Sichuan)-Sweden Economic and Trade Co-operation and Exchange Conference Successfully Held

On the afternoon of 4 November local time. China (Sichuan)-Sweden Economic and Trade Co-operation Exchange Conference was successfully held in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. The meeting was hosted by the Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Economic Cooperation. Nearly 100 people from more than 50 local enterprises, institutions and government departments in Sweden attended the meeting.

Sichuan is a wonderful place with vast opportunities, a treasure land with flourishing industries, a vibrant open highland, a desirable tourist destination, and an investment hotspot with great development potential in western China. Representative of the Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Economic Cooperation delivered a speech introducing in detail the business environment in Sichuan, industrial advantages and market potential, and talked about the Sichuan-Sweden industrial win-win complementary potential in cooperation, and possibilities of investment and cooperation in the equipment manufacturing, electronic information, culture and tourism and other industrial sectors, and sent a sincere invitation to the local enterprises in Sweden for further cooperation.

At the meeting, some Swedish enterprises introduced their cooperation in Sichuan. Participants are optimistic about the opportunities for cooperation in Sichuan, and think that Sichuan has a strong industrial background and obvious geographic advantages. In the context of the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative, Sichuan and Sweden can not only further strengthen bilateral trade, and jointly develop the international market, but also deepen the existing industrial cooperation, and jointly enhance the competitiveness of the industry, and promote the two places in technological innovation, environmental protection and sustainable development.

The event has further enabled Swedish enterprises to understand more about Sichuan and encourage the two sides to achieve more win-win cooperation in more areas in the future.
