Multinational Enterprises “Invest in Sichuan” Symposium Successfully Held

On November 4, the Multinational Enterprises “Invest in Sichuan” Symposium was successfully held in Shanghai as an effort to further seize the opportunities of the 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE), strengthen the promotion of foreign investment, and deepen the dialogue and exchange of cooperation between Sichuan and multinational companies. This symposium was hosted by the Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Economic Cooperation and the Shanghai Office of the People's Government of Sichuan Province. Representatives from over 75 globally renowned multinational corporations and business associations, totaling more than 100 people, attended the conference.

At the symposium, Hui Chaoxu, Director of the Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Economic Cooperation, comprehensively introduced Sichuan's investment environment and development opportunities in terms of "strategic position, economic foundation, resource factors, open-up vitality, and investment environment". Ten multinational companies, including Henkel, ALB, and TCP Group, made exchanges and speeches to share their achievements and experience in investment and development. Other participating representatives expressed their high regard for Sichuan's unique strategic position, vibrant potential consumer market, high-quality policy support, advantageous location with both internal and external connectivity, well-developed infrastructure, and efficient business environment. They stated their intention to further strengthen communication and cooperation with Sichuan and deeply invest in Sichuan.

In recent years, the Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Economic Cooperation has used the China International Import Expo (CIIE) as a pivot to communicate, negotiate, and cooperate with companies and buyers from around the world, promoting a large number of renowned multinational corporations to enter Sichuan to expand their market and seek investment opportunities. During the 5th CIIE held in 2022, all 6 projects, including Messer Industrial Gases from Germany, KPMG Intelligent Shared Services Center, and HSBC Insurance Sichuan Branch Expansion, have been successfully implemented in Sichuan, indicating a positive trend in the province's development.

It is understood that during the 6th CIIE, the Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Economic Cooperation will actively connect with foreign exhibitors and carry out investment promotion activities, striving to attract a group of high-quality and large-scale projects to settle in Sichuan.
