Chengdu, Sichuan: Future "Star of Science and Technology" in Western China

Recently, the "Outline of the Construction Plan for the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle" was released, putting forward the development requirements for Chengdu to build a science and technology innovation center. The Chengdu government has formulated relevant development plans, and it is estimated that by 2025, a scientific and technological innovation center will be substantially completed and will be fully completed as an influential center in China by 2035.

Chengdu has a strong comprehensive economic strength. It has gathered a large number of well-known universities and scientific research institutions, and has cultivated many high-tech enterprises and industries. Meanwhile, Chengdu also has a convenient and three-dimensional transportation system and an open and inclusive innovative cultural atmosphere. These are the solid foundations for Chengdu to build a scientific and technological innovation center.
In recent years, Chengdu has been tackling difficulties in scientific and technological innovation, and a number of iconic original innovations have continuously emerged in Chengdu, enabling Chengdu to achieve a leap-forward breakthrough in scientific and technological innovation. From the completion and commissioning of the Chengdu Supercomputing Center to the first discharge of a new generation of "artificial sun" devices in Chengdu to the opening of China's first major national scientific and technological infrastructure for biotherapeutic translational medicine, Chengdu, the "star of science and technology" in western China is rising steadily.

In the future, Chengdu and Chongqing will build a comprehensive scientific innovation center in Chongqing as part of the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle. The two cities will give full play to their respective advantages in scientific and technological resources, accelerate the construction of major scientific and technological infrastructure, cutting-edge cross-platforms, and technological innovation platforms, so as to form a joint force for technological innovation. At the same time, the two cities will also carry out further cooperation in talent introduction, technology finance, transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and expansion of open cooperation.
