Sichuan Attracts $2.61 Billion in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in 2024

On February 24, the 2025 Sichuan Provincial Foreign Investment Symposium and Foreign Investment Working Group Meeting were held in Chengdu. The meeting highlighted that Sichuan's FDI inflow in 2024 ranked first in central and western China for six consecutive years, surpassing the national average by 3.6 percentage points year-on-year. The industrial layout of foreign investment has become more rational, with significant growth in key sectors such as manufacturing and high-tech industries. Hong Kong, the United States, and Singapore were the top three sources of investment, while European countries showed rapid growth in their investment share. Overall, foreign investment work in Sichuan achieved steady progress throughout the year.

Chengdu Holds Major Project Signing and On-Site Promotion Event for Low-Altitude Economy and Commercial Aerospace Industry Cluster

Recently, Chengdu held a centralized project signing and on-site promotion event for major projects in the low-altitude economy and commercial aerospace industry cluster in Chengdu’s Xindu District. The event focused on accelerating the development of strategic emerging industries, particularly the construction of low-altitude economy and commercial aerospace industry clusters. A total of 47 major projects, including the National High-End Aviation Equipment Technology Innovation Center, were signed, with a total investment of CNY 51.936 billion. These projects span multiple industrial chains, such as low-altitude economy, commercial aerospace, and large aircraft manufacturing and services, and are expected to accelerate the development of Chengdu's low-altitude economy and commercial aerospace industry clusters.

The Construction of 36 Major Projects in Chengdu High-Tech Zone Starts

Recently, Chengdu High-Tech Zone held the 2025 major projects on-site promotion event, marking the start of 36 major projects with a total investment of CNY 17.85 billion. These projects cover advantageous industries such as electronics, biomedicine, and digital economy, as well as emerging fields like artificial intelligence, low-altitude economy, and aerospace. Among the 36 projects, 11 are major industrial projects, 11 are major public service projects, 12 are major infrastructure projects, and 2 are real estate projects, with investments of CNY 8.07 billion, CNY 4.5 billion, CNY 2 billion, and CNY 3.28 billion, respectively.

9 Sichuan Companies Ranked in the 2024 Hurun China TOP 500 List

On February 25, the "2024 Hurun China TOP 500" list was released, ranking the top 500 non-state-owned enterprises in China by enterprise value. 9 Sichuan-based companies are on the list, including Tongwei Co., Ltd., Eoptolink Technology, Bailiheng Pharmaceutical, Langjiu Group, New Hope Group, Tianqi Lithium, Kelun Pharmaceutical, Jiannanchun, and Medlinker. Sichuan is the province with the most headquarters of top 500 companies in western China.
